If I remember
correctly I believe the first time I encountered the internet at school was in
the second grade. We had a school online learning program called Study Island
and we would go once a week as a class to work on assignment.
It was until the
fourth grade that I began playing games on the internet. Due to the fact that I
did not have a computer at home at the time, I was never interested in using
them at school, probably because I didn’t know how to use them at the time.
Even at the time I began playing games on the internet, I did not do it much
because I never found much amusement in them.
I remember study island, the problem with saying we are using technology is that we have students working out problems on the computer, and my opinion on using technology is having students use software and compose or create something that normally would not be an easy task. Just my opinion.
